IUO

This is a brand of domiciliary objects created from polyamide 6 (known as caprolon in the Soviet Union), a material dedicated to the industrial manufacture of internal machine components such as cogwheels, cylindrical sleeves, and bearings, due to its strength and ability for precise processing.

Throughout its history, this material has remained unexploited for its aesthetic qualities, such as its ivory or soap-like color and its capability for subsurface light scattering reminiscent of fat or wax.

The series of objects features monolithic forms, deriving inspiration from the material itself, aligning with contemporary minimalist design. These artifacts recontextualize the application of an industrial medium, introducing an innovative approach to modern living spaces.
